Scouting for Food

Posted by mlimansky on Mar 16 2014 - 9:36am

The annual Scouting for Food is just around the corner. March 29th is the bag drop. Pick up is April 5th. We will be distributing bags in Piney Orchard in the neighborhoods along Strawberry Lake Way. The bag drop takes about an hour or so. Pick up is quicker because we are only going to houses with bags placed out front. Food will be delivered to the food bank following the pickup. One volunteer from each group / den is asked to deliver to the food bank at Severn United Methodist Church on Reese Road. More info will be provided at the March Pack meeting. Hope you can help with this community service event!

Scout Sunday - March 16th

Posted by mlimansky on Feb 23 2014 - 10:46am

Please join us at the annual Scout Sunday service on March 16th from 11am to Noon at NBMC. This is a service in which Scouting programs particiipate in a worship service and gives us an opportunity to meet the members and clergy of our chartering organization.

February 8, 1910 was the founding of the Boy Scouts of America by W. D. Boyce and the first Scout Sunday was in 1914. See Boy Scouts of America Historical Highlights for more information.

The Scout Law says that a "Scout is Reverent" and the Scouts of all ages promise to do their "Duty to God". These values strengthen youth character in their family, community and faith.

I am looking for four Scouts to participate in the presentation of colors which will be conducted by our Pack and Troop 769.

Uniform is blue shirt, neckerchief, slacks preferred over jeans (no sweatpants please), belt and shoes (no sneakers please).

Please email Marc Limansky if your Scout would like to participate in the presentation of colors.
Please register your Scout as attending so I can get an idea of number of scouts in attendance.

Hope to see you there!
